Delicious BBQ with the most amazing folks running this business! Friendly experience every time. Fast service! Always good eats, no matter which meat selection we choose! And their Cole slaw is the best as a side too! And their BBQ sauce is just right - sweet & tangy!!

yall, the brisket was amazing. the bark was flavorful and the meat was moist. the seasoning on the ribs was just right. reminded me of some good southern smoked meats. is divine. i am touring all the smoked meat places in Soldotna, so far Black Jaxx blows the competition away. The prices for the two group/family meal options, for what you get, are absolutely reasonable. Prepare to drool while you wait in the drive-thru only line at their smokehouse.

Best bbq I have had in Alaska. My husband and I got the three meat and shared it. We got brisket, sausage, and ribs with potato salad and beans. All of the meat was amazing they all had great flavor and weren't over cooked. They also had a little fat which I love but not too much which my husband appreciated. He doesn't like super fatty meat. Everything tasted fresh and it was ready fast. I don't feel like the sides were anything special but good and I wish the side portions were just a little bigger but really the meat was so good you don't really need anything else. We will be going back here every trip from here on out.
Found a GREAT new place for BBQ in town since Firehouse BBQ was such a let down. It's drive through and although they were out of all meat except the brisket, I took that as a good sign. I was right, it was wonderful. The brisket was full of flavor, not dried out, and the bbq sauce is just the icing on the cake. It's full bodied, smokey, a little on the sweet side, but fantastic. The beans are tasty and the potato salad is even better. Tastes like "mom's" homemade. After a long fishing weekend we were so hungry for something good and hardy on the go and NOT fast food. Bingo! We scored today. Can't wait to go back and get some other things.
They are open in their new drive-up business building on Smith Way, Soldotna. I was surprised that they are already open for the 2021 season! I picked up their Rack of Ribs the week before the 2021 Memorial Day weekend. The ribs were Huge and covered in thick tender meat. Niki called them "rhino ribs" as she handed me the heavy order. Delicious!
Frick'n fabulous BBQ! And it's a drive thru!! I had seasoned ribs with beans and coleslaw. Perfectly cooked and the sauce was great! The beans are a tasty sweeter bbq and the coleslaw was delicious too. My man had a pulled pork bbq sandwich and the same sides. We both agree - 5 stars!
